The Florida Project still seems like the most complex and emotional film he's made. Just the tightrope it brings you to where you completely understand calling child services at the end, but the movie always wants you to still feel bad for the mother. And it gets you there without any need to sanitize her. She's toxic, but Baker just trusts that you're going to be empathetic enough to get it. Brooklyn and Defoe give probably my two fav performances in his filmog.
Red Rocket is the funniest.
Anora is the most fun.
Tangerine feels like the most immersive world.
I think Anora tbh. Felt like such a level up by every metric and also introduced new elements that I never knew he had in his repertoire
I wonder what he's going to do next. I hope he finally tackles the family drama dealing with meth addiction he's talked about. I think it takes place in Appalachia
out of the two movies I seen from him I think I enjoyed Red Rocket more than Anora but both are pretty damn good

it’s not mind blowing or anything but it hit home because it reminded me of the summers where I’d stay at my aunts and seeing all types of characters lol
