I was here from the beginning I remember when Trav took down that P**** song cause we hated it.
Like idk these are very basic bars with just a little less explicit writing
Prefer clearer bars tbh
Same as poetry s*** shouldn't be complicated unless explicitly necessary lol

I prefer the moments my self
KTT turning on Trav never thought I see the day
It's been that way since he blew up tbh lol
Travis just uses key words that fit the vibe he’s going for almost as if a game of mad libs, but nah most of it doesn’t make sense

He isn’t cool anymore
He’s at a late Kanye point in his career where an album with his name on it is such a blockbuster event that the greatest producers and writers will show up to work on it just bc his name is on it. A Travis Scott album is the closest we have to second-prime Kanye albums in that they’re at the center of the rap universe and they come out good largely bc everything revolves around them.
I agree that his albums are blockbuster events, but I’m confused about what that has to do with him crediting himself on only some of his songs and not all of them

I'm very fond of internal rhyme schemes and double-entendres but simpler the better with those too IMO

The lines make sense individually
It’s hearing them all together that makes it sound like a page out of Mad Libs

You see it
I agree that his albums are blockbuster events, but I’m confused about what that has to do with him crediting himself on only some of his songs and not all of them
He obviously knows how to produce and can produce for himself
His albums (and hiphop tbh) aren’t at the point anymore where we’d see anything simple enough to only have his name credited
And he clearly doesn’t have enough of a grudge to feel the need to do so to “prove” something to skeptics

I definitely think it’s like reverse madlib
He picks words then writes around them

I agree, I think the notion that Travis doesn’t produce or write anything himself is very obtuse

Sirens was clearly self produced imo I wouldn’t doubt it
Sirens was clearly self produced imo I wouldn’t doubt it
It sounds like a Travis beat he probably built the foundation for, but there are 5 co-producers credited on that track
OP please create this thread for BON IVER the literary TERRORIST
I love his music and he’s a very poetic artist, but I’d be lying if I said that some of his songs don’t sound like complete random mumbo jumbo
Hey Travis Scott, hey-hey-hey-hey-hey, Trav
You know what the f*** up, nigga?
Know what I'm talkin' 'bout?
Nigga, nigga, one thing for sure
Two things for certain, nigga
We gon' keep drinking this motherfucking lean, nigga
And wearin' these motherfuckin' Rockstar jeans, nigga
They want what a nigga can't stand
I know what they can't stand
I know why they mad, nigga
Know what I'm talkin' 'bout? But we don't give a f***, yeah
We gon' keep this big ass MAC-11 on deck
If any f*** nigga get out of line
If any f*** nigga want do somethin'
Nigga, we can do it, nigga, know what I'm talkin' 'bout?

I don’t think I’ve really ever heard a Travis verse that was about anything, except maybe like a few from his earlier pre-BITTSM days
Since then they always have this very abstract, vague, Mad Libs-esque approach and style
?
Every song is part gibberish. It makes me think it's for long-time listeners. Like little easter eggs of nonsense
