I agree that Travis most likely doesn’t produce anything by himself. But to just jump to the conclusion that he doesn’t contribute anything is a little absurd when he’s only credited on some of his songs, not all of them.

If he was trying to masquerade as a producer, wouldn’t he credit himself on all of his album tracks?

I don’t think he ever tried to masquerade as a producer. His fans did that for him. Someone itt said he’s like a human Pinterest board and I think that’s accurate, but it’s not the most noble type of figure to be, especially in rap. Hes like a Kanye type exec producer figure but with less technical abilities.

Like the dude has four studio albums, every single one has an elevated production value compared to 95% of other modern rappers.

It’s a little obtuse to assume that the common denominator in all of those albums isn’t contributing anything whatsoever to how they turn out

All I’m saying is, the songs he’s credited on he contributed something to, even if it’s as small as a drum pattern or a sample or a sound effect or whatever.

He definitely seems to be more of an executive producer, but people forget that that is producing.

Also, we’ve seen videos of Travis cooking up. He clearly has knowledge and basic skills of making beats. I would assume that he creates the skeleton or basic foundation of the beats he’s credited on and then has the co-producers come in to beef everything up and elevate it while overseeing the process

He’s at a late Kanye point in his career where an album with his name on it is such a blockbuster event that the greatest producers and writers will show up to work on it just bc his name is on it. A Travis Scott album is the closest we have to second-prime Kanye albums in that they’re at the center of the rap universe and they come out good largely bc everything revolves around them.
