Better overall experience. You don't have to pay a monthly cost to play your games with friends. You don't have to be held back when it comes to operating with lowest common denominator hardware.
I had been on console since COD4 and recently got a PC this last december and can’t believe I feel stupid having spent so many years defiantly playing at 60fps or lower
its how i started and i didnt see a reason to get console till black ops released
first game i got addicted to was cs 1.6 back in 2006
I only use it to play games that are not on consoles like Quake
But it's kinda annoying to connect it to my tv to play on the couch

I was so pissed when i went to play mario kart, and nintendo b****ed that my subscription ran out.
I used it like 5 times last year. And the service is f***in garbage.
One of my close friends had moved to PC years before me, and I was still stuck on Xbox 360, with no real plans of moving to Xbox One. Eventually copped Xbox One S when it dropped, when plans for saving up to build a PC fell through.
Then I played Gears 4 & The Witcher 3 on that Xbox One and died inside at how bad they ran (especially TW3, holy s***). Built a PC a few months later, re-bought those games and few others I had on Xbox One and the rest is history.
But tbh, throughout my life I always dabbled in PC gaming, just on laptops. So getting the "real experience" was always on my mind and well worth the wait.
Edit: Oh and watching PS4 get the Final Fantasy XV 60FPS update, and Xbox got nothing. Yeah...

this. also non-trash spotify, discord, in general just being able to tab in-and-out, being able to use any controller i want, buying cheap game keys for like $40 at release instead of having a game shipped for $70, better graphics, and so much more

It’s dead compared to how it used to be, but you can still find some active servers
It’s my most played CS but I dabbled with a source for lil. Always went back to 1.6 though lol

i think i played cs 1.6 for like 1-2 years then went to css and never looked back tbh especially the way the grenade throwing and stuff works was way improved imo
