Dababy’s YouTube gained 300M views in the last 12 months…
I think we just looking at success from one lense. He eating still, as are his contemporaries
Fans didn’t turn on DaBaby. A group determined he was canceled and the court of public ran with it.
Da baby was never good & folks finally realized it

He’s averaging 12M views a week
Never knew why people put high expectations on Lil Baby of all rappers
He has been trash since day 1 & his s*** has always sounded the same til now.
Offset didn't fall off.
But for the others, I think the same flow, similar beats, and not enough changes make them interesting to follow.
Kanye, Tyler, etc always "reinvent" their character every album release cycle, so that's what gets people interested in them.
In a way, I think most artists need to hone in on their sound for a minute, but then switch it up after awhile.
However, lifestyle rappers like Larry June doesn't have to change too much b/c their content is always what you expect. Chill vibes about money, work, health, women, etc.

old music?
the views and streams kinda show offset kinda strugglin
but I wouldn't say he's fallen off musically compared to the others listed. just doesn't have the audience
Ice spice’s whole gimmick was making NY drill from the female perspective as an attractive woman with an interesting signature look. Once that wore off the music wasn’t able to stand on its own.
Offset’s solo music never really had a huge audience.
Lil Baby doesn’t have the same hunger or hook making abilities
Dababy stopped getting pushed by the industry because of what he said on stage
Fans didn’t turn on DaBaby. A group determined he was canceled and the court of public ran with it.
The court of public opinion was also already realizing his songs sounded the same so he wasnt worth the extra hassle, and got him out of here
These new artist don’t have any real stories or lore about them anymore. You used to have to lived life a little before you popped. Gave you range. Most of the living legends popped in their mid to late 20s. These artist now days just go viral and get their 15
Trash ass music. But in regards to some of the artists you mentioned in OP I always get surprised when people turn on them because they've been f***in garbage for a minute. I genuinely don't know what made fans flip on em cause it's not like they're doing that much different from the bullshit that made people like em in the first place.
Lowkey that stat about 50 Cent outstreaming every other NY rapper in 2024 shows that modern rappers don't have as much mass appeal as they used to.
It's not a knock on them alone but more so that the market has become so fragmented that rappers who are hot or having a huge moment don't capture the same attention from the public or casuals as they used to.
Also, rappers in the past like J Kwon, Bobby Schmurda, Fetty Wap, Mims, Chingy, etc. who weren't built for longevity still had the radio play on lock when it came to their hits. But now rappers can't even fall back on that due to the radio's decline where they legit only play megahits or past hits.

His music was also getting extremely stale. nobody wanted hear it anymore.
Ice Spice lacked actual talent
Offset’s solo music never really sold like that
DaBaby’s music was getting stale plus he pissed off a protected community that led to them pulling the plug
Lil Baby’s music just got stale as well
It’s just a combination of a lot of things but if you don’t evolve as an artist then your career is over
Correct. Lil Baby had a fun lil run. Also all the listed artists only got big off singles. They could never focus their talents to create a great album. if you can’t produce good/amazing albums your rap career has a shelf life of like 5 years max and they will never be a long lasting artist.
