there's plenty of legendary rappers that aren't household names though.

i mean, that’s where qualifiers come in though

like yeah the average person doesn’t know DOOM and wouldn’t call him a legend but he’s an underground legend. i think that’s fair to him, i wouldn’t expect or be upset if he didn’t come up in discussion about all-time music legends like MJ and Prince

that's fair. i believe this thread is about hip hop legends, because if we're talking every genre, a great chunk of these rappers wouldn't get acknowledged.

I'd put Ross somewhere higher than Game but significantly lower than Busta

That performance part is def a big deal

Jada destroyed Fabolous and Dipset with ease but he heavily relies on features. His catalog isn't up to par with Ross but his stage presence, song selection and timing is impeccable. Ross has way better music though and could seriously just go with album cuts and still do well against most rappers.

when it's the consensus it absolutely is valid. the next gen is extra. the gen previous saying it as well makes it dam near undeniable. especially when it's other actual legends too
