Take absolutely nothing else into account. No gameplay, no music, no direction, nothing.
Literally only the story. What’s your favorite? And why?
Just got back into video game a few months ago so I've only played like a dozen PS4 titles so far... But I will say that DQ11 has blown everything else out of the water in terms of story/character arcs (and pretty much in every other area too tbh).
if we aren’t counting remasters I’d go with either God of War or Persona 5. Persona 5 is dialogue heavy and just has a lot of great characters that you really connect with, and I like the concept of it.
Bloodborne because it’s incredibly interesting and thorough without being difficult to understand. And the way it’s revealed to you is perfectly sequenced so you have to figure it out yourself and put all the pieces together

god of war
unharted 4
Out of what I played I'd say God of war or Detroit become human. God of war is more impressive to me though because detroit is just a story game.
Horizon zero Dawn had an interesting story but the characters weren't all that captivating.
Last of us 2 can come in and swoop it up though
PS4 only? Cuz red dead is best game story oat. I like uncharted too and thought Detroit become human was cool. God of war/horizon are boring af imo
Also The Last Guardian & Shadow Of The Colossus but thats more environmental storytelling
