  • I think this may be adhd kicking in or me just being overwhelmed by the amount of film fans/films out there but I'm fairly new to this world but I really wanna sit back and navigate my way through great content but theres so many layers to it how do you guys find the best stuff to watch? I have so many bookmarked Reddit pages, rotten tomatoes and top 10 lists but now I don't even know where to go from lmao i haven't even watched s*** yet

  • I hope that makes sense to y'all

I like The Watch podcast a lot
I don’t really use Reddit much but /r/truefilm can be a gem
Then I just like to look at a variety of those top xyz tv shows or movies of each year/decade
And the ones that are repeated across lists that appeal to me are ones I try

  • I got all the streaming services too

Do you also recommend having a to watch list? I notice I have a bunch of pages bookmarked but don't even have list of stuff I'd watch. Then things like years/genres come into play

I’ve been in and out on it but I think having a big list of stuff is pretty handy for when I know I wanna watch something and can go look through a big list of stuff I know I wanna watch and just pick what appeals at the time

Usually means I end up watching something I’ve been meaning to watch instead of just putting on something stupid that I’ve seen 3 times already

Been seeing a lot of people here hype up the movie Shiva baby but I don't be seeing it on IMDb, rotten tomatoes lists and I'm like damn someone like me can easily miss out on a movie like that if I wasn't here then I be seeing people s*** on critic sites like that

My thing is with list is the actual order of them if that makes sense like I know with movies most of the time they're separated by genres n s***

Nah only movies and miniseries but its much better than imdb and rotten tomatoes for reviews and lists and also for keeping track of what you watch and want to watch

Idk about shows but letterboxd is the one.

There are so many popular lists that dive into specific subgenres, and it really shines a light on some great indie releases

  • Jul 26, 2021

Yeah, Letterboxd is good for lists and keeping track of what you watch or want to watch.

Once you find out what you're into you can follow other users with similar taste in movies and branch out from there
