gnarlynastyIt was definitely goofy of him to drop a single and video like this vs f***ing Wu Tang Forever in the yr of 1997. It’s almost like he wanted that Will Smith-Getting Jiggy With It lane but NY wasn’t having it. The fashion in the video is most likely all designer suits and shades tho,no matter how goofy they made it look,people weren’t on that,so they were ahead of the curve in that department.
This video would’ve worked for another rapper other than Jay/Roc because they were coming off the Mafioso rap, hustler turned legit style and aesthetic. Which was different from the shiny suit aesthetic but I’m sure Hov was focused on tryna get a real club smash. If you peep all the In my lifetimes and other projects after RD Hov made the effort to make s*** for the club.
