i actually think drake is a decent to good rapper when he tries but that doesn't stop almost all of his projects (minus IYRTITL and maybe take care) from being ass

I would do tiers but comparing him to his peers in the mainstream from a purely rapping standpoint he’s below Kendrick and current Cole may get the best of him

S tier would be Andre 3000, Nas, Jay, Kendrick level. Does Drake belong in this tier?

    No.

    But he is definitely close.

i wouldnt even say he's close

i think there's a difference between having really good quotables and one liners and having layered rap schemes

like 7 am on bridle path is currently drake's most recent technical rap song

Funny cus he’s relative to kendrick at his best and as of like 2019 cole Is relative to him when he’s at his best

    Agreed

Drake has the ability to be in the conversation when he wants to, reason why he gets love from the ones folks undisputedly label s-tier (lupe, jay electronica, 3-stacks, etc.)

as time passed he rarely pushed himself to go there, finding other parts of music to explore which i’m happy he did

    Basic flow, basic lyrics.
Basic, safe, bland, like white folks chicken.

But he is firmly a B-tier technician overall.

Probably but this isn't his area of expertise.

If someone asked which rapper can make the most radio hits like you'd be insane not to list him either first or second.

But this just isn't his thing for the most part aside from some moments of brilliance
