a classic album
an album that sets the tone for a great genre of music with a collection of songs that are not only great album cuts but amazing singles. Also, replay value is a very important!
why is TPAB a classic then? It's replay value is very low

Top 3 album of the 2010s

i actually think that album sucks ass
GKMC is more of a classic
there's a reason why PRs exists and why when an artists performs for a big blog they get a good review for their albums. It's transparent but not like too blatant - you just have to read stories concerning Pitchfork and James Blake, pitchfork and Kanye, pitchfork and Sun kil Moon, pitchfork and ariel pink, pitchfork and Swans etc. to see my point.
didnt pitchfork s***ted on james blakes last album and they been constantly s***ting on kanye ever since he made it public that he liked trump? ngl, what you're saying sounds like some conspiracy s***
true - but its replay value is 1/10
You can notice something different about the production and lyrics every time you listen to it. Idk how it has "low replay value"

yeah and then their end of decade lists has NO James blake albums despite them being great fans of his music and heralding him as a musical genius in 2011. Same thing with ariel pink and swans. It's transparent
great songs
withstanding test of time
i dont get how yall think the argument of this s*** is hard bruh

I haven't listened to TPAB since maybe 2015 (outside of Alright) because it throws all of its meanings at you. It's too unsubtle - so I get bored of it after one listen. Great replay value albums are subtle, multi-layered (with meaning) and innovative. TPAB is a GREAT jazz rap-inspired album but nothing particularly original

lots of classic albums sound dated as hell
In that case jay doesn’t have a single classic
?????????????????

oh i see what youre saying. but again, if such claim is gonna be made, you have to provide solid evidence to support your argument. Just pointing out those weird decisions made by one music publication doesnt prove anything tbh

so if we label classic only by nostalgia and the feeling it sparked then
it shouldn't be a classic then
?????????????????
Every single jay album has skips let’s be real, i was going off his definition.
I do actually think jay has classics

it's just a sign that acclaim isn't always about just the music
1 skip is okay when there are two songs on the album that are goat tier to make up for it

rd, blueprint and black album has no skips
