OP who do you consider a “good” rapper?
young thug, future, youngboy, playboi carti, lil keed, lil gotit, just to name a few. However i used to listen almost exclusively to 90s rap when i was in high school ie: gang starr, old jay z, wu tang, mos def, nas etc

Oh so you're a zoomer.
Explains a lot

Assuming you’re not trolling I think it’s pretty obvious 2pac appealed to a lot of people especially during the time. His traits (voice, lyrical content, flow, etc) are all easy to latch on to and that’s just speaking strictly from a musical perspective not including the things people loved about him outside of music. I’m not the biggest Pac fan but it’s easy to see why people love him
rather than accusing me of baiting, can we please get a discussion going? ive never heard tupac say anything and thought to myself "wow that was quite the profound bar" and granted i used to eat sleep and breathe "dust rap".
I mean first you gotta post a coherent argument as to why you don't think he is a great rapper and why you think he's incapable of making good music
replying with super short answers lacking in content ain't gonna cut it. it makes you look like a troll even if you didn't intend to troll.
Just my two cents

I suppose youre right. Some good points were made tho and i feel i gained from the discussion.
Way more than a decent artist. Stop being ignorant
That’s just my opinion
I don’t think people would be putting him on the pedestal as much if he hadn’t died tbh
When you listen to him like really listen to him not just hear what he’s saying it just grabs a hold of you
just something like thugz mansion is incredible writing, imagination and display of vulnerable emotion
better dayz a song where he looks in the past for better days then realizes better days are ahead where in the story his girl is pregnant
Idk he just says a lot without saying too much...and a lot of songs he’s capturing almost like a moment of clarity or a shimmer of light or an epiphany and it all unfolds from start to finish
If u can listen to Dear Mama, Keep ya head up, etc
And not feel anything in the music... idk what to tel u, pac is just simply not for u and the struggles dont resonate with u
