the metamorphosis of Tupac Shakur in 5 years is something I don't think we'll ever get to understand.

Going from this to writing one of, if not one of the most heartfelt songs in hip hop of all time....as a reference track for MC Hammer.

    Dear Mama was for Hammer?

The young Hillbillies here in Mississippi be bumping Gucci in their pickup trucks while chewing dip and wearing cowboy boots.

Yup they love their southern rappers but get scared around black folks. And also don’t respect rap like they do country and rock

Unconditional Love was. This was during that small stretch of time when MC Hammer's career was going downhill and he was signed to Death Row.

it's true of all genres of folk music becoming popular music imo not even just hip hop. i think there's something to be said about cassette tapes partially being an exception to this but im too young for those to know how they were really used day to day by people

Eminem if you want to put a face on it but its a mix of the internet giving any and everyone an instant opportunity to be a "rapper" and blacks giving whites a key into the genre instead of being guests

Run DMC did that when they invited Beastie Boys to co-headline a tour together in '87. Not opening act, but co-headline.
