It seems like he gets a ton of love on this site, he’s constantly praised for being revolutionary and changing the landscape of hip-hop and as it currently stands it seems like he cannot do any wrong, with that being said; what would it take for him to seriously be considered an all timer then? What’s stopping some of you?

I would like to note that I’m personally not saying that he is up there. I’m just wondering from a hip-hop/rap standpoint what stops him from being placed up there, (or if he is?)

Carti will never have a truly focused album. If he ever gets even more self aware of his strengths and weaknesses musically, a truly great/classic album from him would definitely be him turning his current style full pop.

An album full of catchy, off kilter hooks/bars with a bunch of breakout hits.

like it’s super cool to s*** and put down Uzi nowadays, but i think it’s a lot closer than a lot of people would admit in spite of his identity crisis

is he actually better than Rocky? i prefer Carti’s stuff in a vacuum, but both LLA’s + ALLA are pretty amazing projects, and i think Rocky is way better at rapping generally than Carti is, i wouldn’t be averse to someone saying Carti is better but i think it’s conversation worthy

it’s even dicier when you start comparing him to the Drake’s Pac’s, Kendrick’s etc. like i don’t really see how there’s any room for him

Hell nah lol, motherfuckers are meme'ing. WLR does have a good number of breakout moments though, the album as a whole is just messy imo, good nonetheless though. Rocky these past few years, has been spitting mostly off the dome, he might write some of his stuff down, but he's going off pure talent these days.
