Nirvana was hardly poppy in the way Green Day could be, but people do seem to have that association with them for whatever reason.
Yeah in my eyes Kurt Cobain was one of the most authentic artist we had, he definitely played up a persona but I almost look at him like white Pac where people dismiss his entire message bc they view them as a character
I think if Nirvana woulda kept going their discography would rival Radiohead’s. I still think often about how Kurt wanted to follow up In Utero with a new wave album with dance influence
