BeReal is just corny to me. social media that tries to "unplug" you and create "natural" moments just feels contrived asf to me by media industry type people who want to make a buck on another form of media and pat themselves on the back because they were the first on it and first to put everyone on it. the whole point of it would lead to just not using any social media.

only people still using snapchat often in their mid twenties have >thousand-day streaks with people on there, so it’s just the people who’ve been obsessed with the app since it first came out

younger than me though, i know teens & college students still use snapchat very frequently

it’s harder to change your number than to block someone on snapchat

snapchat is the first line of defense in case the person is a weirdo

IG is gonna remain as a staple because it fits a few purposes/use cases very well, that being image hosting and stories

Also because it focuses on these things as its main uses. Every other platform that tried to introduce unnecessary features or shift its focus away from what made it popular ultimately became less popular in the end
