Soundcloud algorithm promotes songs based on plays but also if the song is actively being played its far more likely to be promoted. Like for some reason the number of plays a song has doesnt matter as much as whether or not youre actively listening to the song. I noticed if i play a song like 10 times ill get around 10 plays from other people, but once i stop playing it the plays slow down considerably. This means buying plays is effectively useless based on how the plays work. If they just surge your track and play it 1000 times in the span of 10 minutes you wont get s*** out of it rly. It has to be sustained plays over a longer period of time. This might only be true for the low play bracket tho idk
Youtube is a whole different game. Youtube is ALL about plays and likes. If you get plays and likes, your whole channel gets promoted. That means if u buy plays and likes, you will see way more traffic. The problem with this is it only lasts for a few days. A few days after the plays come in, if u dont have high traffic normally your account will see much less traffic and youll fall down the rankings again. So u can either continuously buy plays, or take advantage of the period immediately after you buy plays
Ik some might ask themselves "isnt buying plays lame/cheating?" It depends on how you do it. Just buying plays is stupid. It wont do anything for you and it will make u look like a clown. Buying PROMO is veeeery different. This will get you actual listeners, reposts, ads, etc. Thats where u wanna put ur money. Everyone does this in some fashion whether they pay or not so its rly nothing to be ashamed of.

its all about playlists, on soundcloud if they notice ur song is getting a few hundred plays in the first day of being posted theyll put it on their playlist called 'the upload' or something and itll get like 10k+ plays in a week then continue to get plays from whatever playlists or liked lists it got added to, for spotify paying to get your music put on playlists with a lot of followers is the best way to get consistent listeners, a lot of ig pages do packages where they do a post or story with ur song and add it to their playlist, the post is cool cause u get more interaction but the playlist add is all that really matters, idrk anything about youtube tho

word that makes sense, i always see the same artists in my "the upload" playlist for the most part. i didnt rly think about that but that makes a lot of sense, i just wonder who my tracks would be promoted to like if the people i listen to are in turn gonna be promoted along with my track?
