It was then first sitcom on tv that was actually insightful.

The jokes were generally about more subtle things in society rather then the big more talked about subject that sitcoms latch on to. And it wasn’t afraid to have everybody in the cast be scumbags. It was dark for its time.

Before Seinfeld most sitcoms wild corny and always had to end on a good night. Seinfeld was darker and almost always ended on a joke were someone got f***ed over or had lived with the consequences of their actions. So many later sitcoms bit that style and now it seems played out, Seinfeld was the first to do it big.

Very low-key agree. Enjoyable show, but not many laugh-out-loud moments for me.

    Curb vastly superior.

Didn’t it pave the way for modern sitcoms

It’s easy to say that thirty years later it’s beloved for the impact it had on modern sitcoms it’s literally a show about nothing which is relatable to everyone

that's basically what curb is. but that makes sense cause larry David is co-creator of Seinfeld. I love those kind of endings that tie-in with the s*** that happened earlier in the show aka living with the consequences of their actions

I mean yeah it’s dated obviously. There was one episode where they all plan to go to the movies but keep missing each other but obviously that would never happen today because of cell phones but I can still appreciate the humor in it. Just a chill show to throw on imo
