Tip for future reference, whenever "99%" is used in conversation it's hyperbolic and means "a lot/most"

As for everything else I'll tap in my friend Wilt

Yeah, and the justification was to prove that your statement "Because 99% of the time a record will sound worse than a digital copy." is bullshit because it is. And I didn't state a single lie. You flipped your script to go off on a tangent about inconveniences and what not. Point still stands that there will be a lot of times that a record won't sound worse than digital, and it really doesn't take that much effort to invest in both if you're that much of a music lover

But it does sound worse than a comparable 1411kbps 16 bit or 2116kbps 24 bit file when played at the same volume on the same speakers, even disregarding the incessant crackle of a vinyl

And when you've listened to that album a dozen times and it starts to wear then what?

If you leave it by a windowsill for a bit too long and it warps then what?

If you wanna listen to it literally anywhere other than your virgin cave then what?

I promise you I know what I'm talking about, records are unsustainable and you're moving backwards the vast majority of the time.

A good set up should run you $200 and you shouldn’t spend more than $30 per record. Also, don’t buy records made after the ‘90s

Why shouldn’t we buy records made after the 90’s?

low price, convenience, can rip it to your computer and have infinite copies of it, best sound quality, the sheer abundance of them out there, 2000s revivalism

Prices are already creeping up slowly. Plus if something as inconvenient as cassettes can mount somewhat of a comeback, then CDs are bound to return the top-selling medium imo

computers don’t come with CD drives anymore lol

CDs are just lamer smaller vinyls that don’t look as cool

  • Mar 25, 2021

I got a bunch of em hung up in my room and it just looks cool

I dont really even use my record player that much tbh

Another thing is just supporting the artist like it feels good to give them my money. And i only buy albums i really fw

It's just trends man. Most artists weren't releasing their music on vinyl for damn near 20 years

It’s not too different than a cd at that point
Save your money for more pre-‘90s records

This is the future of culture
Doing things because you want ppl to know you’re doing them, not because you actually like them

The art, the inside contents, the music & the support.

Most of my vinyl are 60s to early 2000s tho. Although i do have a few that are modern era and/or modern represses.
