vantage jsabtw i highly rec the rom hack 'pokemon gaia' for those that liked RSE and FRLG. it's basically the closest thing we'll get to a 3rd gen 3 rpg and has an incredible amount of polish for a rom hack

If you like barebone mechanics, the start of no post game and a boring story play Ruby and sapphire. If you want to play Kanto but without the glitches play Fire Red and Leaf Green. If you want to play the beta to one of the greatest Pokemon games ever made play Emerald.

What did Gen 3 bring to Pokemon that Gen 4 didn't do much better?
Also any Pokemon game that can be easily beaten with just 3 Pokemon on your team, starter included, is straight garbage.

Pokémon designs were v fire and Battle Frontier in Emerald was great at the time
Gen 4 did a lot of things better when they switched to DS and got more capabilities

MalakasHow? Hoenn was a great region, great Pokemon designs, abilities were introduced, and not to mention Emerald is a solid contender for best Pokemon game. Also FR/LG are the only way to play original Kanto games without wanting to blow your brains out, with good postgame as well
