Trying to finally get into Shakespeare. Ive read a lot of classic literature and his plays are referenced so often that I feel like I should give it another try. School kind of put me off but i wasnt as interested in reading back then. We had to read Much Ado About Nothing and even thogh I dont really remember anything I remember finding it awfully boring.
So I guess I would rather start with a tragedy not a comedy. Whats yall favorite? Ive asked some friends and the ones that seemed to be liked the most among them are Macbeth and Hamlet.

And someone told me its best to not just straight up read it but get one of those dramatized audio books and read along so you get more of a feeling of seeing a play. Has anybody here tried that yet?

Hamlet has to be top 5. I’m a big Tempest fan myself. Tempest is like his version of a blockbuster summer movie. S***s kinda bonkers when you think about the staging that has to take place. But King Lear is another of my faves. Honestly can’t really go wrong with most of his work. There’s a reason he’s one of best
