3 weeks as a busboy at extremely busy local restaurant in houston
Felt like i aged 70 years during that s***. They begged me to stay too cause i was the best busboy ever. They pulled some f*** s*** on me adding more hours to my already 10 hour shift and i just walked out
dishwasher at Denny's
i use to do that. how much did they start you off? and why’d u quit?

man whatever minimum wage was in Canada back then, 11.50$ I think lmao. It was just trash man and I really was suppose to be a server after a few weeks but they were capping lol

They treated you like a workhorse
Lol I don’t think I’ve worked a job and quit preemptively. I have worked quite a bit of jobs though and mostly quit cause of school or because I find a better job pay wise. Idk my parents told me never to do that cause you never know when you need a reference

i used to be absolutely drenched in sweat, water and chili by the end of every shift. 11 hours every f***ing day bro. the waiters/waitresses loved me cause i made their jobs mad easy
I would rather be busy than in that limbo of not having s*** to do but you have to look busy or make up s*** to do
yeah the charade of "look busy" is stupid as hell, i'll never understand that
roots in toronto, i lasted 3 and a half weeks that s*** was a joke lol i emailed them from vancouver airport being like yo im not in the city for the next two weeks peace, just let them fire me lmfao
Was a barista for 4 days, couldnt stand the atmosphere and they wouldnt let me in on tips until after a month so Id be working 8/hr. Did doordash instead and made so much more working a much less boring job
Worked at a breakfast cafe downtown for a day
I was hired as a bus boy but they had me as a prepcook and dishwasher, was like 3 staff deadass. I was turning 18 in two days back when i started working there in 2018 and i said to myself ain’t noway im spending my birthday in this tiny ass kitchen

older gens are always taught to be wage slaves and save all their sick and vacation days lol.

Nah I know homie trust me. You preaching to the choir. I also know I have to make a living too. Fine balance of caring just enough to do well but not enough to dedicate your life to a corporation

Luckily all the jobs I've gotten have only helped me financially and keep stable where I didn't have to quit in a week

just making sure bro, get that money but always take care of yourself
After I moved back to the states and looked for some startup experience I worked at Wendy's and quit after my first shift (another employee that was there for months walked out with me too.
I didn't care about it being a longterm job because I just wanted to do something close to home and simple.
I was trained to just clean the lobby and bathroom which I did perfectly but I was suddenly thrown behind the register without any knowledge on how things go. Somehow I managed to make it work but my GM was such a piece of s*** while I tried my hardest that I just walked out after the night.
Wild how I made friends with everyone there in 1 day and they completely understood my frustration at management.

I left an amazon warehouse after 3 days cause the warehouse had no a/c and they micromanage like a b****.
Tbh, hated working retail for that reason
It's worse if management is telling you you need to have some s*** to do, when there's literally nothing you can do yet
2 weeks at a theater
They were bullshitting when it came time to give me my paycheck, tried to give me the run around so I wasn't feeling it. Went in early one day and eventually got the check and walked out even though my shift had just started.
