Tax law beyond a certain level is a cheat code for rich people to "optimize" their tax burden. Anyone in denial of this is partaking in wishful thinking. I've personally helped "optimize" taxes via various schemes that a layperson without access to big law firms would have no chance of ever using. Our clients were mostly aristocrats and business owners.

And the other place I worked at finessed several billion euros for its clients over a tax law loophole for 3 decades which turned into a national scandal once it was discovered and the offices were raided while I was there
