Idk why its an issue to some of yall lol. Its literally nothing different from Itunes or physical deluxes, except its literally more convenient instead of having to track s*** down.

That anniversary album was really great, i wore it out running it back almost every day. that was definitely what i wanted from a new Bryson album

it doesn't always work but it gives you a better chance. for example YB added 2 songs and dropped a instrumental version of his album to beat drakes 4th week by 2K

the “other hand” point doesn’t even make sense

if someone has 90 minutes of free time to listen to music, and each song is 3 minutes long, only 30 songs can be played regardless of if there are 10 or 15 songs on the album. 10 song streams count as 1 album stream. the amount of songs on the tracklist makes no difference to how many streams it’ll get.

If someone has a hour of freetime and the standard album is 40 minutes, say they listen to to the album and then 20 mins of other music.

If the songs are available from day 1, they have 7 days to be streamed. Say the album with those songs is 60 minutes. Now thats 20 mins of extra streams. But if its only available from mid week, youre missing out on those 20 mins of streams first few days

I’m pretty sure he said the album was supposed to have those 5 tracks at the end like it was the full version

if they liked the album, they’ll go back & play their favorite songs

if they didn’t like the album, they’d have turned it off before the album finished

Even futures deluxe for example. Say i dont like future but im a fan of Lil Baby/42 Dugg. I could be listening to "Like Me" for 7 days but it ends up being only 4.5 since it dropped mid week on a deluxe. That's 2.5 days of missed streams

End of day songs being out for a full week of sales increase the chance of them getting streamed more

I don't have a problem with it but if you're gonna do it add it to the already existing album don't make it a new version ffs I already have that s*** in my library

deluxes don’t really matter that much tho cause at the end of the day they’re always gonna be cashgrabs, even the good ones

the worst ones are the ones that don’t even try or slap a completely unreleated album on top of the existing one

Uzi and Nav were the worst offenders of this

it generally incentivizes ppl to listen to the album again

if they like the album already then they'll hear the deluxe songs + the songs from the original version

if they thought the album was just ok then they may at least listen to the deluxe tracks to see if any of those are good to them

1st week deluxes are a dying fad tho imo. it may have made a splash for sales/marketing but the quality is so rarely worth talking about for most albums that do it. i think in the near future "deluxe" is jus gonna translate to most people as "bonus mid you won't care for anyway" and the sales effect will rly diminish

NWTS was honestly maybe the best deluxe of the last 10 years

• a cover art that’s arguably better than the original
• two bonuses (or 3 depending on where you live) that are great enough to stand on their own as fun lil bonuses
