I agree. Dishwashing was the most labor intensive job ever. You be washing dishes and be like "How many f***ing people are in this b****?...This place ain't even that big!"

Housekeeping, ever tried to clean a whole room in under 15 minutes with legitimate safety standards? Good luck with that.

in high school i was a delivery driver for a chicken wing place. pretty chill job actually. just high drivin around town listening to music and eating free food from the kitchen.

the business was never in great shape though and eventually I was one of like maybe 4 or 5 employees there and was made to cook and wash dishes. not complaining and never complain then, but that s*** sucked. I don’t feel like rambling here but I’d later be contacted by the NY Dept of Labor who was investigating the business for overworking it’s employees

oh also my first job was a cashier at a grocery store and in sub-zero temps they had me and the old disabled guy Mikey go out and collect shopping carts. unbelievably painful and infuriating to be pushing those frigid metal carts around in several inches of snow and slush for minimum wage

I helped opened the store for the grand opening. What an absolute s*** job. Very overwhelming environment. If we wasn’t quick enough to unload the first trucks, the assistant store manager got really snotty. The store manager was worse. His attitude was awful. One time they catered in food before the big opening. The motherfucker yelled at me because I didn’t put a spoon back properly. On my first day on register, I got yelled at for making a mistake. I got yelled at for using the wrong kind of paper to write down a note to a manager. The store manager pretty much fired me but I am so happy he did. I hope everyday that place closes down.

Washed dishes in a Chinese restaurant for three weeks when I was 16

Getting yelled at in a language you don't understand for 6 hours is pretty degrading

I was a delivery boy for 2 days. Paid me 50 cents ($0.50) an hour and I almost got in an accident doing a delivery. I drove back with the food and went home.

Oh to be a desperate, broke 18 year old.

Did they call to see where you were? Anything could’ve happened to you as far as they knew they didn’t check up on you?

I didn't realize until I worked somewhere else that they really had me pressed over a made up position and a two dollar raise. It's just so fake.

I worked at recycling plant for like $8.15 an hour.

The dirtiest, loudest, dustiest and unsafe place i ever worked.

Boring as hell and I dreaded every day of, all you did was sit on a conveyor and separate different materials.

It stunk horribly and sometimes we would get dead animals
