Honestly this. I'm sure the whole "Is it safe to have kids in this time?" s*** has been said many times throughout last century. It's called life. F***ed up s*** gonna happen. People still gonna reproduce. You literally can't stop people from having kids no matter what the world is like. And mass sterilization is immoral and normally when that notion is brought on classist and/or racist ideology fuels it.

The world is always gonna be f***ed one way or another. You do what you can and try to make it as fulfilling of a life as you can with the time that you have.

i'm plannin on having kids whenever I can take care of them, preferably without having to sacrifice anything from my life, but if it comes to that i'll pull whatever strings for my kids. I'm only 18 tho, so I'll have to see the direction the world takes. If OP is correct; climate catastrophe may be hittin the same time i have my first child

Your child is an extension of yourself (while being their own self as well obviously). It literally makes you less selfish to have one (if you are good parent obviously), just like being in a relationship makes you less selfish.
