Are people scared of banks again?
Would the govt need a real national bank so everyone can get a card?
Would it save trees because of paper? Same with metal?

People already get food stamp cards so what would be a difference?

Well we already live in a semi-cashless society, but I can't imagine one where the physical dollar was eliminated entirely.

I mean, it would mean that as a society we've moved past the need to allocate resources to ppl based on their ability to pay

Limits on transaction amounts (already happening in a few countries); you don’t have complete control, let alone any control, of your money if s*** goes down or the systems don’t work; every single transaction you make will be traceable

Im no expert but i think theres some cryptocurrencies that are somewhat untraceable - not sure tho
