its some cool joints but man he's been making underwhelming albums since Views

nigga could make an album full of Time/Place + "The ____" type tracks and give us an undisputed classic...

Who honestly would want that? The major complaint is that it "samey" so an album of even more similar songs is not a good idea.

It’s fine. I got suckered in by the Ebro this is a rap album talk and the feature list. I didn’t love all of Views or More Life, but at least he was more creative there.

There are for sure some high moments that’ll go on the playlist, but dude just this just feels like a retread. it’s clear dude doesn’t have any new ideas or new ways to say them. Found myself just throwing on NWTS this morning b/c I didn’t feel like listening to the Ross version of a classic.

He has creatively stagnated for years now. He really got nothing else to say. Every album is about people who betrayed or switched up on him, his love for his boys, his spot at the top and lonely it is, classic Drake braggadocios bars and toxic/simping lines about women. Same old, Same old.

...and R&B records. Idk what genre some of those singing records were but they weren't R&B or Pop. Get Along Better, Fountain and IMY2 cool but they ain't no Hold On We're Going Home, Feel No Ways, Passionfruit, One Dance, Too Good or Controlla.

Even Scorpion had songs like God's Plan, In My Feelings, Nice For What, etc. that were "Drake songs" without fitting perfectly into a genre, but this doesn't have any of those in my opinion. LNCL may remain a bigger hit than every song on this album.

Yeah pretty much. Now I know why he ain't release a single before the album. Even he knew he ain't got no monster hits on CLB. I really didn't want Laugh Now Cry Later to be on the album because I didn't like what it meant for the direction of the album.

But now that I see the unfortunately way the album is I honest would have liked it to be on it. Might as well since he didn't make a song that will out do it on the charts. I could be wrong but I really don't think any of the songs will be bigger than LNCL.

Holy s*** is CLB a disappointment. I can't believe that this is the album we have been waiting 2-3 years for man. This was Drake's last chance. He can't make another classic, cohesive album to save his life. So many problems with this album.

    • His rapping is still has such a lack of energy. I want to like the rap records but this nigga rapping like he a f***ing novice with no energy and nervous or some s***.
    • He can't sing anymore. Always relying on autotune and s***. It's disgusting.
    • So much filler. There's about 6-8 songs that didn't need to be on here. Dude has a sickness.
    • How the f*** do you waste ANOTHER JAY-Z VERSE. Why the f*** would you put Jay-Z on Need me / Lotta 42 and he actually took out the f***ing outro?? Nah dawg Drake is a demon he washed.
    • Yebba just has a track by herself. I hate records like this on his albums. I was so excited about a Drake X Yebba song but he ain't appear on it at all.... man.....
    • Like I thought the Future and Young Thug record and all the songs with the usual suspects are ass. Man....
    • Where the f*** is the Drake that actually cared man? That put his soul in his raps?? That was actually elaborate with his song structures and song transitions and charismatic with his delivery???

    Some pros about the album:

    • The Cudi record isn't as good as I thought it would be but it's still pretty nice.
    • Same as the Ross and Wayne record. They got some bars off I guess...
    • 7AM in Bridle Path >>>>>> F***ING LOVE THIS TYPE OF DRAKE.
    • Intro and Outro were cool too... still lack of any amount of energy or effort or care but still they were cool..

Idk man... I thought that this would be the one. I'ma still always be a fan and listen to his music of course but everytime he says something he's the best or the GOAT or "shout out to Hov because it's him then me" I'ma laugh and then put on some Kendrick f*** outta here nigga.

Literally my exact thoughts. I feel like this is the reaction of any fan that’s been around since 09. Or at least since like 2013.

The soul and the care was the best part of his music. Lots of sampling here but it’s a one trick pony and it’s gotten old.

This time around he should have kept the throwaways for the album instead of dropping sh2 and DLDT. At least he had some polished records there.

Idk man I've seen some long time Drizzy fans loving his latest stuff too. It's more like this should be the reaction of any fan that really cares about quality work. The rest are just satisfied with whether a song slaps or not.

The level or effort isn't there anymore. The way his songs are now... it's like say Furthest Thing doesn't have that hard second rap half that comes after the singing part with one of his best melodies and hooks or if Come Thru didn't have that outro breakdown or Days In The East didn't have that breakdown. It's like a lot of his songs is missing something.

And where are the great song transitions like on TC, NWTS, Views and More Life (Especially the last two). Where is the GOAT R&B songs like Marvins Room, Jungle, or Fire & Desire or Pop songs done better than Pop artists like Take Care, Feel No Ways or Passionfruit? Where are the elaborate beats and unique song structures like on Worst Behavior, No Tellin' or Star67? Where's the passion and hunger in his voice like on any rap record Pre-2017? (Get it a little on 7AM on Bridle Path and No Friends In the Industry but still)

Yeah you right about the "throwaways" I would have much rather him not drop DLDT and put When to Say When, Chicago Freestyle, Not You Too, Deep Pockets, and Time Flies on CLB. He could say release Scary Hours 2 but put Lemon Pepper Freestyle on CLB, leave What's Next and Wants and Needs and then put all the filler tracks from CLB on Scary Hours. (If they were made before then of course)

Didn’t even need dldt or sh2. We didn’t need every single song. It’s just too much and too repetitive.

That’s the real problem. He doesn’t go away even when he’s away. So the songs sound tired.

At best we would have at least gotten the cream of the same old crop if he had saved the tracks you listed and put them on CLB.
