Well, he delivered for me. I left satisfied on first listen. I'm going to live with this for a long time. Im not sure what you mean by lack of energy because, hes actually energized, inspired and matured.

I mean bro just listen to any of his rapping records Pre 2018 and s*** even some Post 2018 like Omerta. His rapping on here has such a lack of consistent flow and volume. He rapping like he a novice and nervous.

Compare his rapping to on Champange Poetry and other songs on here to s*** like The Ride, 4PM in Calabasas, No Tellin', Star67. Dreams Money Can Buy, 5AM In Toronto, 0 to 100 / The Catch Up, etc. It's just so apparent to me.

Absolutely loved it, I cried a little no cap
If Drake wasn't the goat he is now

  • Sep 3, 2021

    It’s a good project but it’s a bit formulaic
I didn’t find much of it challenging for drake

you just feel a way tho, i’m struggling to see real constructive criticism in your post. It all seems more like a personal issue, maybe you just grew out of your drake phase and the only reason you still fw his old stuff is nostalgia? Why keep holding onto something when it obviously causes negativity within yourself. Go n listen to the artists you love.

Nah just seems like you just accept anything he puts out. If you struggling that much to see it then this nigga could put out a song with fart noises and you'll say it's fire.

  • The drake no energy thing is a weird critique in that...what did you expect? He's for the most part, vintage drake with the raps on this album.

How do I feel about CLB ? Like I felt about Scorpion, NWTS, etc. It's a Drake album.

His rapping is still has such a lack of energy.

Not sure what album you heard, but this has been the thing I've hated Drake doing since 2016 and he's literally NOT doing that on this album. He cadence is a huge improvement.

Sorry you don't enjoy the album tho. Can't relate.

Was also skeptical about the length, but this is literally the same length as Take Care

he commented on one of his dad's lives on IG that CLB would be "music to grow to" just like views etc

Which is bullshit and had me worried about the album and more worries were unfortunately confirmed. Views wasn't a grower. It had beautiful production and really good records overall. it just had a lack of really great rap records like Weston Road Flows.

But once you move past that it has some of his best records like Feel No Ways, Fire & Desire, U With Me, Redemption, One Dance, Controlla, Too Good... CLB ain't a grower. Ain't no amount of growing going to make people love this record. Besides the timestamp record it doesn't have any truly great record.

Wtf are you talking about? They why the f*** you even making a comment in this thread idiot? How the f*** you gunna comment on my criticism of an album you haven't heard what type of dumb s*** is that?

I like your thoughts here. They just come off as angry and no need to throw in the Kendrick stuff. That’s not gonna get anyone in this section to truly hear you out. But I do see what you’re saying. I just finished my first listen and the song structure and care into developing hooks/ catchiness/ and transitions is not there. I get the sense he wants people to try to dive into the lyrics more and not just listen to bob your head/ dance/ or sing a radio friendly hit. It’s prevalent with the cover…and With the first 4-5 tracks. While they are good, the selection comes off as lazy as none of these tracks have any sort of soul/ meaning/ or even catchiness to them. They’re just kind of there, meandering along. When you think of describing the first few tracks of old drake albums someone might say they are epic or timeless or moving etc. shot for me, from time, free smoke, Tuscan leather, legend, energy, etc.

    OP needs to relax

........ i do agree that's the WORST Jay-Z placement he could have done.

That's cool for y'all man I get that most Drake fans don't care about quality anymore. I think he made some good songs. It's a cool album I just better not hear him say he the best or he next to Hov anymore.

Boy you one delusional mother f***er. First criticizing my criticize of an album you supposedly haven't heard yet which is bullshit but you making up s*** now too. The only problem is that it's just a Yebba song. Ain't no Drake whatsoever. Just disappointed about that. Another disappointed upon a mountain of disappointments from this album.
