I mean, sometimes grunge is hype and energetic af, maybe when the bands became mainstream, they were depressed as s***.

Nu Metal is depressing, dark, and sad sometimes too, the only type of Nu Metal that i like is the party oriented bands like Limp Bizkit, Crazy Town and Methods of Mayhem with a strong gangsta rap influence rapping about gang violence, sex, d****, alcohol, etc.
