Them other countries got some skin bias too
If Em was black he'd be just another rapper talking about how he hates his baby mama. He's some people goat without even listening to who his competition is.
I've deadass asked white dudes who say EM is their Goat & they never even heard a Jay-Z, Biggie or Nas song lol
Like c'mon. You cant call nobody the greatest anything if you arent really on the culture like that & you love him because he's the best rapper that looks like you lol
This
Like I hate when some random white dude trynna impress and always gotta claim Eminem is the best, usually they heard either wu Tang/Tupac/dre/snoop/DMX/biggie but nothing deeper which I hate
A d they'll dismiss the rest as "money b****es and autotune"
"Yah Eminem is dope have ya heard some of Kendricks albums tho"?
"Nah man not really into that at all, only heard some singles, Swimming Pools/Maad City is cool tho"
Ironically after the hot coffee pot freestyle and revival in general, before that it was mostly love.
Bro I remember seeing a tweet a few years ago saying "if Eminem was played in the club everyone would leave" that went viral.
Are people forgetting tracks like Smack That, Shake That, Ass Like That, etc exist
I also hate that narrative because Em doesn't make club music, it never made sense.
that's an awfully hot coffee pot
The negative reaction to this shouldn’t be understated tbh.
I remember KTT when it dropped.
No one was even talking about the trump thing or the fact that it seemingly was heralding a new album.
It was just jokes about how booty it was
this whole middle of the road stance of painting any disdain and critique for eminem as "hate" after all the bad music he's put out the last decade is just as annoying as it is obtuse

I agree that there are plenty of valid reasons to not like Em, and some of his legacy decay is his own fault, but there is absolutely a tangible backlash to him that feels, artificial in a way.
I think that a big part of it, now that I am thinking about it, is that a large part of Em’s fanbase are white people who don’t listen to a lot of hip hop like that, so hating Em is a way to distance yourself from those type of listeners to some people.
I just maintain that that really isn’t fair to Em, and he’s made a lot of great s*** that shouldn’t be written off because he has white privilege. That should be acknowledged, and considered when deciding his all time standing, but some people want to just write him off because it looks weird to like him too much.

a vocal minority that apparently only exists online - which somehow doesn't count as reality?
everyone else is too busy sniffing his farts pretending he's had a return to form when really he's just a washed up legacy act still relying on punch down satire and empty internal rhymes

Idk what to say; I have seen lots of valid criticism of Em, but I feel like I’ve seen just as much meme hate online. I can’t speak on irl, because I only interact with my friends about hip hop, and they are a comparatively small set of people.
he give us this, I can’t hate him
Great song and fun as f*** to listen to
It happened as he kept adding bad albums to his discography. He had a crazy high peak though
Didn’t help that the ones making those Lil Wayne bad memes were Em stans themselves
What do you think about his newest records?
Eminem at his worst is still better than most of them trash SoundCloud rappers
Anyone is better than those morons
Tyler was 100% influenced by Eminem wtf
That’s Earl, but yeah, that’s kinda a weird thing to say about your OG.
That being said though, that was like 10 years ago, Earl has grown up a lot since then, and we all say stupid stuff sometimes. I wouldn’t crucify him over it
It's not even about there being a trend to hate on em. His old s*** hasn't aged well, his new s***...well, you know about his knew s***, no need to say none. Technically gifted but the music...
How is this song bad

To say that earl and Tyler weren't influenced by em is wild. That's their goat lol

Yeah, I think he for sure influenced them.
Their early work are like continuations of Relapse, lol.
But even after that, I think that he is still an influence on their rapping mechanics. I feel like it’s almost impossible to not be influenced by someone you listened to that much at a formative age; and it’s confirmed they both listened to him like crazy when they were young

Exactly so that's a good point of Em being an influence
It only became “cool” in recent times because of how Eminem’s music aged although he has classics
But I find it funny that KTT s***s on his Slim Shady stuff as an argument while also praising it at the same time lol

he takes it in jest, don't know why the fans can't. it's also the consequence of putting out horrid music for years and having a virulently anti-Black fanbase parade you as the best
rappers have fallen off pedestals for less.. if anything he's continued to negate any reason why he should be esteemed any different.

Not club music but I've seen parties go absolutely nuts when Without Me comes on. One of the most infectious flows out there, everybody can rap along.

That’s fair.
I actually posted about how his fanbase is not doing him any favors.
I guess we can agree to disagree; I still love him, but I respect why some people wouldn’t
