Wondered this for a long time. Some people say that the mixtapes had a raw quality that the mastering on Trilogy took away.
You can still check the OG mixtapes on DatPiff and Soundcloud.
Both, tbh. But lately it's been the OG mixtapes, for nostalgia sake.
Can you hear the difference? I haven’t compared. Genuinely curious.

The trilogy is more polished and sounds much clearer. That's about it, aside from a few samples removed in the trilogy version, for whatever reason. It's more immersive but it's lacking a bit of the charm and atmosphere of the OGs.
Trilogy as it is more convenient (mainly listen to music on Spotify). Unfortunately Birds Part 2 sound trash in the trilogy version, so I have to skip it :-(
If the Original tapes would be on streaming, I would probably prefer them tbh
I downloaded the mastered version and just separated it back in the day so i'm just used to that version versus the mixtape version
remastered version on streaming eventhough its missing some samples
always mixtapes
youre missing out on remastered version House of Balloons / Glass Table Girls. love the mixtapes but that song doesnt slap like that on there
How much different are the edits? I only been listening to the OG tapes for art and cuz I usually hate change

it just sounds like more of a studio album. kinda louder and more "mixed" or whatever. i still listen to the og version regularly bc that's what i have downloaded but it's worth a listen for certain songs imo
what you need is not one of those songs tho

I think they changed the transitions among songs as well. I probably couldn't get used to the new edits tbh
