Not just hello stuff, an actual conversation

When was the last time ? Do you do it often ?

Been climbing mountains in Sedona this week so every day.

Earlier today. I work in a covid testing unit.

i’m usually tryna squirm my way out of every conversation so it’s been a minute

struggling to remember last time i had a full on convo with a stranger

all the time at work with random customers

At some bars before covid hit

Like two weeks ago on my last day of community service

Told some old b****es I was collecting trash voluntarily to help the environment and they ate it up

Girl and I went for a quick midday walk today to break away from work. Took a route we hit all the time and was about three blocks from the apartment when some guy at a local auto shop grabbed our attention. Never ignore someone if they grab my attention - we are all human at the end of the day. He went on talking about Chicago and St. Louis (I live in St. Louis city) and his experiences as a bi-racial man. He was not talking very coherently...his statements were chopped up and all over.

Anyways, we start to peel away because s*** I got to get back to work, lol, and his conversation was just rambling more than anything. So we say good talking then start walking away. We get about 15 feet away, he shouts for our attention, we turn, then he bids us a fine farewell by saying ‘stay ku klux klan’.... lol. My girl and I are white, haha.

Talking with a stranger always yields some kind of story!

depends. I get told I have to greet every customer when I walk by one but I never do lol. its usually when I'm ringing somebody out and they just do small talk with me

I work in sales at a clothing store so every shift i hv to pretend friendly to customers and make conversation

last year i think

i wore my cure hoodie to the dentist and this older lady in the waiting area started talking to me about how she used to listen to them all the time back in the day

oh, i forgot i had a full on convo with the girl cleaning my teeth too

when i broke down at the gym locker room, talking about a 5 min + convo not just a quick blurb

A lot of times. Especially in thrift stores or music stores.

Bro a year or two ago I was dealing with some s*** and feeling depressed and my Uber driver was chatty, so we talked for a half hour about all kinds of stuff heading to downtown LA. S*** got DEEP. It was one of those really great, serendipitous conversations that you need at that specific moment.

Back when I used to go to bars on the regular, I would have conversations with strangers every week, but because of the pandemic separating everyone, it's been a long time.
