again what is ur point
do u guys think im saying anyone who makes their s*** w vsts is better than anyone who uses samples
dilla and nujabes are in my top 5 all time 🤷♂️
u can be an extremely skilled sample based producer the same way u can be an extremely skilled vst producer.
im saying alc doesn't have anything that's impressed me the same way dilla or nujabes have
Well just as easy as it might be to simply loop then throw a snare over you can also make a 4 bar up n down chord change n throw snares over that the program literally guides you now lol
Was just adding onto what he was saying because it goes even deeper than what he mentioned 💀💀

with the first part of ur post
do u think i don't agree? do u not understand that the guys im talking abt (benjicold, goyxrd, etc) are so good because they make s*** u cant do with just simple up and down chords or whatever auto chord s*** u guys r talking abt

I was JUST ADDING onto what he was saying on how simple you can make beats in daws & i never once said anything about them niggas bro
But its basically what you said about "lol just loop sample then theres an Alc beat" which also isnt true & is the vice versa of what he said

a LOT of alc beats are just loops no chops
that's fine but it means im not putting him in my top 5
yeah and he does this because he knows that the only truly difficult part of sampling is finding the samples, not actually flipping the samples. if any other producer gets to those samples before he does he won't be able to make something that stands apart from the other guy's beat. because flipping samples isn't as nuanced or challenging as mfs make it out to be
I just asked my brother who produces and he disagrees lol.
He said finding the sample a lot of times is the easy part.
that's not saying i dont think there's good alchemist beats btw i mean there's plenty alchemist songs i actually like a lot. It's just usually these are staight loops, literally not even a single chop, and nothing interesting is going on w the drums either.
I cant say he's a bad producer but i realllly dont think hes in the top 5 at all
People on ktt2 d*** ride them slow sample beats. And thinks anyone who doesn't use those beats has bad production.

thats great but as someone who also produces i disagree
name his top 10 beats.
I don’t have a top 10, but I can give you at least 10 that have made me go “what the f***”
Sensational Sherri - Westside Gunn
Dean Martin Steaks - Roc Marciano
Universal Studios - Wiz Khalifa
Location Remote - Freddie Gibbs & Curren$y
Ventilation - Curren$y
Nobles - Earl Sweatshirt & Navy Blue (that f***in outro…)
Billy Joe - Benny the Butcher
All Glass - Freddie Gibbs
Piano Love - Conway the Machine
Double Hockey Sticks - Boldy James
Break the Bank - Schoolboy Q
Trap Door - Joey Bada$$
We Gonna Make It - Jadakiss
Lucha Bros - Westside Gunn
Mac 10 Wounds - Conway
Summer Nights - Boldy James
I can do this all day
lil bit of recency bias going on itt cause of his run now but hes really good. id say like top 20-30
If we talking underground rap he is top 3 of all time
Now, if we are talking mainstream producers he isn’t up there, he lacks the versatility and the hits.
lil bit of recency bias going on itt cause of his run now but hes really good. id say like top 20-30
Not at all.
Covert Coup, Rare Chandeliers and No Idols have been out for a decade+ and have aged with grace.
honestly not that high for me

hes been making great beats since the infamous my mobb deep, unofficial third member. Early 10s he did all that curren$y, action bronson, great songs with schoolboy, he did jada and wayne songs like this man has been a legend for a while its just now his NAME is bigger than ever
discrediting a producer because his s*** is mainly sample based is very stupid especially as a producer myself, alc does a lot of interesting s*** most of the time with it anyway and looping is an art in itself, Madlib is still one of the greatest and hes known as the loop digga
Not at all.

thats not enough to put him in top 10
Sure you could say metro or timbo or blaze but alc has been making sheer quality for two decades without a miss
Encompassing sounds and emotional across the spectrum
Across the spectrum is overstated
He has a certain sound he tends to stick to

again im not dismissing his old s*** even with those projects considered theres still plenty of producers id put over him

im putting him top 10. You can say that for any producer cuz no one is undebatably the best yfm. That longevity, consistency and quality is damn near unmatched
