The only answer for me is Blonde. It’s still hard for me to wrap around my mind how spectacular it was. And this was after Channel Orange changed my life.
I don’t know that it ever bothered me too much to begin with but I’m especially not bothered by it at this point. I get that it’s jarring (particularly for a hip-hop album) but it’s not like it isn’t an animal that’s butchered for food the world over. I know no animals should be getting their heads cut off for any reason but it’s also not two severed Golden Retriever heads or something.
Same. Weird to feel desensitized to such a graphic image, but it is sooo..
All the albums in OP too it’s crazy
Agree with everything you said I’m right there with you my boy
Some Rap Songs is a great example
After waiting years for a follow up, We knew it was gonna be special, but I would have never guessed it would have turned out how it did

I’d agree w srs
i had such low expectations for WLR (kind of started to dislike carti in the time between die lit + wlr) that my expectations for liking it were extremely high, like he'd really have to outdo himself and basically reinvent and change his whole sound
and then he did :oh2: :banderas: :pog: :letsfuckinggo:
After Hours
Most recent example I can think of, everything about that album was just a f***ing gift
Like i was never a huge fan of him, but seeing him deliver to his fans tenfold felt good
After Hours
This tbh. The Singles were good but when I heard the title track I was like this HAS to be at least a return to form and I was blown away on first listen it’s been on repeat daily ever since

I guess I can see needing 93 million miles of personal space from an image like that, but engaging with this album cover seems to me no more disturbing than a visit to one’s local butcher shop, and I don’t even eat meat like that anymore.
