Ye is an interesting one cause at a minimum recently there is that video of him and TI going back and forth behind the scenes with TI respectfully grilling him about the song they were making together at the time and his ideals at the time, at a minimum its someone who is challenging him behind the scenes

TI is not in Kanye's circle straw man

I'd say anyone who has the ability to shape the music behind the scenes (including collaborators as I said in OP) could be considered "in the circle"

Now the people consistently around him most likely don't challenge him because they probably know their words are gonna fall on deaf ears so I understand from that perspective.

SBTH from my memory was a work he made mostly alone and only brought people in to help mix/master and do the skits.

What am I not getting? I just clarified myself. If you pick only the closest people to Ye than yes he probably has almost all "Yes Men" but if you expand it to the people he collaborates with (which is what I said in OP) I'd say at a minimum people are challenging him on certain things.

being friends/friendly with someone does not make them part of your circle. your circle is your entourage. ie the ones you keep around you all the time

Like I said I get that, I was expanding it because I dont think many popular artists ever get challenged by their entourage, the only feedback they would get would be people in the studio making the music with them (which includes collaborators). I'd make the argument that most if not all large artists entourage never challenge them on their music, thats why I opened the definition up a bit.

That's the point of the thread, which artists have the biggest suck ups on their team.

The responses are interesting seems like its a lot of large legendary established artists who used to make good music that have fallen astray in their later years (mostly because their circle or new circle dont want to challenge artists who have made certified classics)

Like I said you could make the argument that most major established artists have all "yes men" in their circle. I probably just phrased it wrong, I guess it would have made more sense if I said which artists "yes men" support or gas the really bad music they are making.
