I haven’t played a MGS installment since MGS 2. I had to stop there because the game was so ruthlessly terrible. The absolute worst follow up to one of the greatest games of all time.

Disgusted, I couldn’t get myself to even think about playing another one. But I’m willing to bend, decades later.

If I were to play one to give the series and Kojima another chance, which should I play?

They all seem like nonsense more or less but the actual gameplay in 5 is really impressive.

Just finished 5 and its f***ing amazing once it really clicks.

And by that, I mean, once you get the dog in the field. That's when the game becomes legendary

You have to play Snake Eater. Easily the best one after the original.

I'm stunned. The fact that you liked the first but hated the second is mind blowing, but anyway...MGS3 is easily the best out of the entire series

i f***ing hated 5 and i will stand by that. its a good game... but its a terrible mgs game

Kojima took some risks on MGS2 that a lot of people still disagree with.

They’re all great. I have 5 but haven’t played too much yet.

#3 is just so good...i think it’s my fav.
#4 wraps everything up so well. Has pieces from every game involved. Goat s***.

Yeah I’m ngl at first I was really annoyed with Raiden but over time that went away

MGS2 is terrible as a sequel because thats the point of the game lol

mgs2 was the best, then OG then snake eater, which was also phenomenal. all above 9s

msg4 wasnt very fun

msg5 was meh for the casual gamer imo but if u got good at the mechanics and enemy patterns i could see it being more fun

MGS5 feels more like a fun epilogue to the series as a whole, whereas 4 was the end of the story. There's a lot of details/characters/moments you wouldnt give a s*** about if you didnt play the other games. And the engine is f***in awesome. I put like 200 hours into that s***.
