I've had an iPhone since the 3G came out. I've never considered using another kind of phone until about a year ago -- I would really love to get one of the new flip/fold type phones.

But unfortunately i've been locked into the convenience of sticking with iPhone by Apple, since I also have a macbook, airpods, apple tv, and ipad. I know that not having an iPhone doesn't mean i wont be able to use cross-device features, but I'm sure it will be less convenient. (Obviously Appled structured their products this way intentionally.)

i havent switched yet, even though i have been following cool new phone stuff for years and been craving to use something other than a static slab of metal and glass. I actually have a Blackberry 9330 that i use sometimes for note taking at work (helps keeps me focused without all the distractions available on my regular phone). I was also a Blackberry stan prior to switching to iPhone — before that I had multiple Sidekicks (goddamn i miss those).

In a perfect world, modern phones would allow you to purchase them and install whatever OS you want on them like you can do with any computer today (even Macs). Obviously every OS would also be optimized for all phone designs in this ideal reality. Cause if i could put iOS on a flip/fold and it work perfectly fine, i would snatch one of those up in a heartbeat and throw my iphone in the garbage.

What do you use your phone for though do you really need all the extra power

The port in my iPhone randomly stopped working one day, doesn’t work for headphones or charging. You don’t actually have to get a new phone, you can charge it with the magsafe pad chargers that attach to the back of your phone through magnets, and there are some quality power banks that can charge like that too, the Anker ones are nice. It’s a lil annoying but I like to rock w a phone till the wheels fall off.
