    that wasn’t the first album/artist I listened to that I didn’t consider “real” hip hop (keep in mind this is back in the early 2000s when real hip hop = underground lyrical miracle backpack s***. not saying ti isn’t real hip hop.. just at the time my definition of “real” hip hop was diff)

    But it was def the tipping point. After that album I was f***ing w anything w rap in it.. and not just backpack s***.

    Still dope either way

    Nah def. will never forget buying ti king and ghostface fishscale album on the same day and for some reason deciding to play king first even tho I was a much bigger ghost fan at the time.. that king album didn’t leave my moms car CD player for like 2 months.. didn’t even listen to the ghost face album for 2 months cause I was so into the king album.

    I feel you, even between the 2 I listened to King a lot more than Fishscale even though that’s also a great album. It’s just more…enjoyable overall

    Ironically Lupe Fiasco. Grew up listening to hella west coast s*** then I heard Failure by Lupe. It expanded my ear to listen to Dilla, Kanye etc.
