honestly just from looking at the mess of a rollout back in november/december i knew the label wouldn't put much into the promotion of WLR. letting him drop it on christmas confirmed it.
yea they might've lost faith in him. the sales were underwhelming and his numbers started to dip only 3 weeks after the release. I hope he tries to go independent at some point and buy all his masters back, he signed when he wasn't really known and had no leverage other than having 2 soundcloud songs that popped off. deals for upcoming artists aren't usually good and give low royalty percentages.

i wonder how many projects he has left in the contract
If we don't start getting music videos once the deluxe comes out then somethings up. it's a terrible move, especially when songs like Stop Breathing and New Tank have potential to do something. Die4Guy could be an unexpected hit, that seems to be the most well-received song other than ILoveUIHateU.
Like I don't get it, a Teen X video could do great too and might make the song do more, people would probably make memes out of it cause of the ridiculous baby voice. and now he's down to 11 mill Spotify listeners. Label completely aborted promoting this.
The issue is, I feel like we'll have to get the music videos first before we get the deluxe
Why drop a bunch of new songs on us without properly promoting the original record
And yeah facts, they are sitting on a presumably finished Teen X music video, why not just drop that, as you mentioned, that track has serious meme potential
Beyond that - Sky - ILoveYouIHateYou - Die4Guy - Stop Breathing -Vamp Anthem - All have social media buzz around them, Sky is charting the best from the album on Apple Music (I checked a few hours ago) I don't get why Interscope just refuses to give it a push and/or encourage Carti to give it a music video
Imagine if the Teen X and Stop Breathing music videos get lost in the ether for years like the Left Right music video with Uzi from '15 did
This quietness from Carti & the team/label is so frustrating because the aesthetic of WLR is ALREADY AMAZING
Carti committed himself to the albums vision & aesthetic months ago with the full-leather Rick & Alyx fits, the weird gay/vampire poses, the hair, the cryptic social media posts - this album era is equally as vivid as something like After Hours so to see its potential squandered post-release with this abrupt quietness is sooooooooooooo frustrating

i 100 per cent agree with everything you said just had the same thought as actavis that Sky could be the biggest hit rn
it's super catchy, for me it's probably top3 off the album and the public seems to love it too
agree that die4guy could be the unexpected hit i love that song so f***ing much it might be my fav but idk it would definitely need some push too
also just checked on spotify and sky has almost the biggest numbers off wlr plus i looked at rapcaviar and it's the only song off wlr on there and i think it wasn't here before (i might be wrong i don't really watch it but i think slay3r used to be on it)
vamp anthem deserves some push too, another hit or maybe even meme potential with the beat too, it got decent numbers as well
but like i mean if he's slow with the video releases like after hours im not even gonna be mad i'd love that
after hours rollout flawless every new video always hits nicely
only real music gonna last this would gain wlr some longetivity and even if the public wouldn't care at least the real ones would still care i'd really appreciate a new video anytime it's always nice
but i also think it's the best time for a new video now

Yeah I considered this approach as well, as you say, the After Hours rollout & post-rollout has been practically flawless
Although I think the distinction here is that Abel was sorta forced into promoting it like that due to the postponing of the US/EU tour until damn potentially Q4 2021 now
Like he dropped an album peak Corona March 2020, him and XO are smart asf, they realised that they have to maintain longevity in order for the content not to be stale by the time the tour finally is allowed to come around
Hey, as you say, if Carti is going down that route, then yeah I'm all for it, I think it's a dope approach. It just makes too much sense though for a a team as ed as Carti's but let's see, we've gone a month without any activity beyond a performance, dropping the Teen X MV right now would be a good look
Not to mention, there's a big part of me that almost doesn't want the deluxe to arrive UNTIL the original project gets some more love from people lmao

Can y'all calm down, it'll be out when it's out
There's not always some sinister backstory when something doesn't come out when you want it to, the music videos will be out when the label lets them be out
There was a new snippet today but someone was talking very loudly over it so f*** it lol

molly.jpeg/Not Real music video shoot for the deluxe
Heard this surfaced on the Carti discord but I been banned for a while so idk.
Looks like the same set as those photos from his finsta
