Have you ever heard HOV discography chief?

Because that statement is completly stupid

I'm not saying it's true, I'm just saying that was the narrative in the 00s. Jay was commercial and Nas was the one with substance.

I mean, Big Pimpin; I Just Wanna Love U; Izzo; Girls, Girls, Girls...

People who said that stupid s*** only listened to Singles and even in those he was spitting bars. Big Pimping is in the same album as Anything, IJWLY is in the same album as Where Have You Been, and Izzo and Girls Girls Girls are in The Blueprint

Jay Z is benefitting from not dying lol. If PAC or Big was alive they would be greater than Hov

    Lol thats cap

Pac had 5 albums and no real classics at all

Hov already had reasonabld doubt, vol 2 and blueprint by his 6th release

I can’t think of anyone that came up after Jay and had his same impact in the music industry. Kanye you could make an argument for but that’s it. A lot of these rappers are too young to have made the impact Jay made

In like 10-15 years we will probably unanimously see Drake talked about as the goat the same way just bc he was so famous when we were all young

Hov's entire career is based on Biggie anyway. 4:44 was the first time he truly expanded his vision but even that was full of Biggie nods.

How is entire career based on big's

How is entire career based on big's

"The Black Album" was the working title for Big's next album before he died

Then American Gangster used the samples that were saved for that album

    Stealing rhymes, jocking swag

He's just an obsessive mf, built his whole artistic lane on that dead man. That whole Big still lives through me s*** is a bit weird.

Wayne is definitely up there too, sometimes I forget about him because everything coming out today sounds just like him

Name a street rapper that came up in the last decade and Funeral probably wouldn’t sound too out of place in their discography

Didnt know bout the black album and Ag

But still out of 13 albums u cant say his whole career is based off of biggie's when they were alive they pull from each other and hov still got dynasty, vol 3, blueprint, mchg, wtt in his catalog

  • He's the ultimate rapper in every sense you can think of. Think about it

Kanye is the greatest artist but Jay gives the ultimate 'rapper' experience.

    Pause

    you heard 4:44???

That’s him really flexing his mc skills which a lot of people forget he has.

He’s definitely not just a nice rapper like drake. Drake is a good rapper, B tier, A when he tries but jay is s tier and it’s Insane he got even better at his age

That’s unheard of in hip hop so far.

Even on the most intimate and confessional song on Blueprint (Song Cry) he said "*On repeat, the CD of Big's "Me & My B****", watchin' Bonnie and Clyde, pretendin' to be that s****"

Imagine you're with your girl and your first thought is about some fat misogynistic man.

He's just an obsessive stan. It is what it is.

Nas did it first, Jay was following his footsteps. Even used his producer. Nas taught men how to age gracefully in hip hop.
