    BIRTH CERTIFICATE

He wasn’t no damn chief keef clone

This sound like something a yt would say

You can hear Keef’s old flow and adlibs in all his stuff, it’s cool though it just changed how I heard his music

If you weren’t outside for Chingy it’s not like it’s RUN DMC.

I feel like missing out on Chingy makes it impossible to assess culture

idk man being outside in 2003 shouldn’t really give people the final say in the “culture”. it’s for the younger generation to control and dictate more than anything in my eyes anyways

20 years later… you could argue a majority of people from then are probably a lil out of touch now

Was alive for both eras and this is actually a good question 🤔

I liked Fetty’s songs as they were coming out and still do tbh but it’s glaringly apparent now how much of a Chief Keef clone he was

    They don’t sound alike lol

Both influenced by Gucci and Fetty has songs showing influence from Keef (Boomin for example) but were booing you calling him a clone

I’ve had Fetty songs come on shuffle that I thought were Keef before looking at my phone there are a good number of songs where they sound almost identical

I’ll admit he got some influence from Keef and wop who also influenced Keef now that I think about it. But I think his melodic sound is where they differ

  • Jul 7, 2025

    Fetty.

The tell all sign is streaming hadn't yet killed radio so this comparison is fair . Fetty had a Wayne-like run at his debut. He was everywhere.

Way more unique, was a complete culture-add.

    Chingy still fire af

Fetty but it’s also a part of the times. Rap hadn’t fully crossed over yet so fetty wap had the benefit of having the space for his songs to blow up bigger. Your mom might remember right thurr, but she knows trap queen

He needed to make room for those 18 monty features

Highkey the realest move in music . Go major and give ur homie every feature on ur debut.

Career wise this was his 9/11 tho
