    What?

Most those artists he mentioned have straight up said theyre influenced by Kendrick in interviews 💀

And second half of KOD sounds like a big kendrick impression

We all know what kanye, wayne, sosa, thug, and drake have done for music but what has kendrick done to influence the next gen and is it evident? Discuss

A combination of the timing of him releasing an inaccessible & heavy album by mainstream standards & thug & future asserting dominance over the sound of music stifled the direct influence he might have otherwise had on this new gen. post-gkmc up until tpab I’d say he had pretty tangible influence on people who considered themselves his peers, inspiring them to put more thought into the concepts & messages of their albums.

They rank rappers on who tried to sound like them or look like them 😂 not the actual skill of the rapper

You can’t imitate greatness. Kendrick influence runs deeper than that.
