There is no perfect artists
At times wutang could do no wrong. RZA is an inspiration that’s deeper than rap and his beats are spiritual.
Kanye in a different way too.
Add madlib, nas, outkast or even drake - I have loved them all over a long period but to be honest they have made embarrassingly bad songs too.
If you get that much attention for that long, some ideas are gonna come across weak. But you gotta allow for that - the freedom to do things people don’t like is the key to making anything that’s actually worthwhile.
SGP has over 1600 songs according to dismissyourself, and I could throw on a shuffled playlist of them all and not need to hit skip - that’s why he is the one
Prince and MJ have put out plenty of trash.
At the end of the day, it’s who inspires you the most. It’s ok if it’s just for one thing they did
Idk but El-P is definitely in that conversation

How does Wayne have a terrible discography when he has more classic tapes than most artists have albums
hov's successor, just like ye ;)
He's more similar to Hov than Ye, definitely borrows more influence from him.
If Kanye made Bombs Over Bagdad they'd say it was a classic.
He tried and failed with All Of The Lights and even tho it pales in comparison, fans praise it like it's the burning bush
that's a wild comparison. songs are nothing alike.
B.O.B is a classic song
Can you really put ATCQ up against a Nas or a Jay-Z?
Personally yeah, I wouldn’t put any nas of Jay album over Low End, MM or We got it from here.

I know you got into rap late but I've always appreciated your love for ATCQ. Lots of new rap listeners don't go that far back, even though they should.

Hip hop & Soul were huge for me growing up so it’s always been around. But I’ve always loved Jazz rap so tribe have always been my go to. Plus I just love how Q Tip produces such organic tracks and probably has the best rapping voice imo.
All the members complimented each other so well, never been anyone quite like them.
Bladee
How do you even pronounce this?
Is it Blaydee or Blah-dee ?

Tribe were type weak lyrically. All esoteric raps. Even the substantive tracks are abstract and I know that's by design.
I just prefer more lyrical Hip Hop

Thats an odd comparison
Ye & ATCQ
I feel you could add Common to this conversation as well
