I bought a 2024 Mustang ecoboost premium a couple months ago. It’s the first sports car I’ve owned and I’m really liking it so far, but part of me wishes I had got the 24 GT instead. In 2-3 years I think I’ll probably get either a GT or a used hellcat

Salute to Ford for being the only US company with the balls to slap a V8 in their sports car in 2024
Mazda is never going to make another rotary. If you want a rotary youre better off buying an manual RX8 and keeping up with the maintenance.
Agreed, even though their fleet fuel economy is probably low enough to be able to sell a rotary sports car with higher emissions I'm just not confident that they will. They clearly want to with all the concepts and patents that have leaked since the RX8 was discontinued, but it would be a big gamble that might not pay off as well as they want. Then again, the FD RX7 and NA Miata were huge gambles and look how successful those turned out.
I've been eyeing RX8's for a while now as Honda S2000's are pretty much out of my price range and the RX8 has nearly identical specs, I just can't bring myself to buy one as my only car. I would just have way too much anxiety using that as my daily driver but when I'm able to own 2 cars it's probably at the top of my list for a weekend/fun car.

*only US company with enough hybrids/EVs for sale to offset a V8 sports car

Even within the mustang family they have enough variety for virtually all types of consumers. I’m not a fan of the EV model but I see them all the time tbh Ford at least seems to have a pulse on the domestic market

Nah, RX8s are super cheap, RX7s on the other hand is another story. No one knows how to work on them and Mazda dealerships won’t do maintenance on them. I would buy one as a project right now, but I’ve got enough.
Actually a lot of 00s cars from that era are pretty cheap but they’re probably gonna start hitting that slope of rising prices soon now that our generation is getting some expendable money.

yea for the most part, the rx7's (especially the fd generation) are more mechanically complex and far rarer than the rx8 and thus harder to maintain. at one point i was seriously deep diving into what its like to own an rx8 and while its definitely not as bad as people say, its still a little too unreliable for me to consider as my one and only car that i depend on to get me to work/school etc every time without fail, to say nothing of the cost of buying premix oil and the abysmal fuel economy it gets.
i ultimately settled on the audi s5 4.2 as my ideal balance of a reliable/cheap/fun one car solution, still waiting for the right one to pop up for sale but when it does ima pull the trigger fs.
e38 the best 7 series generation and it's not even remotely close

Totem Automobili GT Super
An Alfa Romeo GTA “restomod” that’s basically a brand new car, the only thing it keeps from the original is a single latch and the VIN. It’s probably the most beautiful car ever manufactured. Can be yours for 500 racks

Finally ended up getting a fiesta st , pretty damn fun even at stock , gonna try to mod it up for a tune and better suspension and slap a lsd down the line . I’m more of a twisty backroads kinda guy and I’m interested in knowing how this platform handles under the best handling mods this platform has to offer
Parked my 2019 WRX STI in storage after I got my 94 Impreza running. I’ve got a few things I need to knock out before I get started on the major project, my 91 318iS. Debating still on keeping the M42 or doing an engine swap. I probably won’t start till after we move. Also thinking about getting rid of my 280zx. I’ll probably get some more cars but I’ll stick with anything 90s-00s.
