That ain’t respect for laws just enforcers

I respect laws and rules but in many cases don't respect the people enforcing them.

id say the law itself doesn’t even expect people to approach things in that way tho - if the state intended for you to see following the law / helping enforce it at all times in all scenarios as fundamental to your morality and role as a citizen, all crimes would have to be punished incredibly seriously, and stuff like warnings / minor fines would have no reason to exist.

While there’s often an overlap between legality and morality, in reality the law is just there to maintain order in society, not to set specific moral rights and wrongs

"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to one's will, within the limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law', because the law is often the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual." Thomas Jefferson

i do alot of things depending on my own personal moral code, so i don't necesarily have alot of love for police but hate them on principle either.

i also dont hate criminals as long as they have a good reason to be doing what they're doing

like when i was growing up alot of the most violent peole i met were well off and had no reason to be so violent u know

not saying i condone robbery or anything but if you need money to make it to the end of the month then it makes more sense
