idk why u would post two examples where it's obviously drake pen lol

rule of thumb, if it's a loosie it's not ghostwritten.

Jumbotron broke me. Just a whole Yachty cover. Brought nothing to it. No track I like Drake on is safe. His little flirtations with the UK scene all have that stink on them.

u gotta understand ppl like yachty aren't just interested in their own music and image. they are writers! they enjoy steering other artists in interesting directions. it's like when there's something u wish ur favorite artist would do w their music. as a writer u can actually make them do it and get paid handsomely too.

it's not a parasitic relationship, it's mutually beneficial. Drake implementing yachty's ideas is a win for both of them. I think Drake could write all his albums by himself if he wanted, but he chooses to work w other ppl bc he genuinely respects their input and wants to see them get paid.

for example, there's no reason he has to keep smiley around but i think he's just genuinely a fan of his s*** fr and wants to look out for him. letting dude get some revenue off the latest Drake album keeps Smiley out the streets type s***

Lot of waffling to say that when Drake is doing a song someone else wrote, it's usually kind of obvious. on some tracks he'll straight up leave the writer's adlibs in. it's not meant to be impossible to tell.

They can be Kanye or Dre or Diddy or Birdman then. Successful guys everyone knows had people writing for them. Made some great music.

It's fine but don't conflate it with the guys writing their s***. They pretend it's the same thing. It's a whole other weightclass.

idk how this debate is related i was just calling u out for reaching big w those "ghostwriting examples"

and for the record I don't think an artist's policy on writers should have any bearing on where their pen ranks. If a guy has an elite pen, he has an elite pen. ghostwriting might taint the discography but it doesn't change that fact.

Could never brag on rappers moving like pop artists with Swedish guys in their backs. You do you. That's the industry. I like the art.

I asked if people trusted atypical Drake pens anymore. I don't. Idk if you write but Drake has some dropped some punches that stick out like sore thumbs as above his pay grade. He lost the benefit of the doubt a long time ago.

The post you quoted was an open ended question.
