yeah true. wasnt the alive 2007 type stuff still largely prerecorded tho? or at very heavily planned to the point of it feeling wrong to give them credit like they were live mashing up. i love the alive 2007 versions but i dont see it as spontaneous live creation or anything like that, more like amazing reinventions/mashups they probably were perfecting and conceptualizing for a long time
id love to be proven wrong but i still see it as they pressed play, but then also did some other embellishments around everything and a big part of the whole purpose was the visual element too
Every show was unique, they had presets loaded on their gear but the mixes were always new even if they rehearsed the general structure
how do you think they changed live music especially?
not necessarily denying it just interested to hear what your perspective is
Daft Punk helped start the EDM movement of the late 2000s early 2010s in the USA via that live show. A lot of famous artists credit that tour for inspiring them to make music or perform live, I think Skrillex being among them
For Skrillex, one of the 2010s’ true producer-DJ superstars, seeing the show in LA “was like walking into the portal of my destiny. It left an instant and indelible mark on my psyche. The idea of delivering a full concert experience while departing from a band on stage was game-changing – not just for me but for all creators.”

i read some conflicting info tbh (about the mixes being always new) but im not really sure in general

The bootleg recordings are out there. For example, the Coachella 2006 performance was improved upon later in the live album recording
No one even missed them until they retired man
I get that they are iconic though
Once again I am not hating on them I'm just saying other artists have delivered great bodies of work since then
this isnt even remotely true niggas been wanting a daft punk album for literal years
you have to play an album consistently for it to be good brehs
it was supposed to be justice but let's just say nobody
Justice had it going for a minute
i wish they did more music under their original style
