its literally T.I., Travis was a producer at GOOD for what a year or two early on and really just closely affiliated from there. Every album and project up until Utopia was under Grand Hustle.

    Damn TI is eating lol

Man he really keep a low profile now that I think about it. A decade ago he was always involved in some s***

  • Young King

This too. Because of TIP he met metro and all those ATL niggas and crafted DBR and rodeo.

And through ye he met mike dean. Might be 50/50

true on that mike dean point

    People don't even realize that

The early Thug/Trav tour and all that

If Travis doesn’t have his Trap era then we don’t get anything from Travis today

    It’s TI

  • Jan 5

Travis would've never hit these heights without Ye. It's Ye.

Was Travis the last artist Ye successfully commanded everybody to find cool? He used to just have that touch, feel like once he started posting up w him in pics everyone just fell in line.

TI. He was the only one willing to push the button on Travis’ career, no TI then no Kanye. Pretty much funded him all the way and vouched

TI just happened to find and sign him first it was more of a poach than hesitation

So basically based off the thread TI did the actual behind the scenes work putting Travis in position and Kanye gave Travis clout among rap fans?

Honestly you could entertain an argument for both contributing equally?

TI giving Travis that initial platform and also surrounding him with nothing but Atlanta artists did him wonders and it continues to benefit him today. When you think of that group of artists in Migos, Young Thug, Lil Baby, Gunna, TM88, Southside, etc., you also think of Travis Scott, and it’s because he was placed around Thug and Quan and Migos during that New Atlanta renaissance and sort of was looked at like a weird cousin of them

TI gave him the initial push and the proximity to the southern artists and I guess the small amount of streets credibility / cool factor that comes with it, so his music could be heard by niggas. AS WELL as Kanye giving him the white people and white adjacents

  • Jan 5

    Both super important

And you see both of their positive impact on him today

I think if Travis was never so connected to that new Atlanta renaissance, touring with thug, etc his career would look a bit differently. Not sure what it’d look like but it would look different.

And on the other hand if Kanye didn’t back him he’d be f***ed

So now that I say all of this, I’m gonna lean Kanye is the most responsible, but can’t underestimate TIs impact

Kanye gave him the mainstream push

So basically based off the thread TI did the actual behind the scenes work putting Travis in position and Kanye gave Travis clout among rap fans?

Kanye took advantage of him as he did with many other artists 'he discovered', but Travis managed to survive and not become a one-hit wonder like the other infamous artists Kanye worked which took advantage of his clout

  • americana

TI just happened to find and sign him first it was more of a poach than hesitation

TI was literally putting thousands behind Travis, literally arguing to have an LCD screen in the daytime just so Travis could see his vision through

Discrediting faith like that to just “He found him and signed him” is so sleep

Without TI pushing buttons through his connections and star power we don’t know where Travis is lol. This nigga had Travis on tracklists for video games like 2K, movies, TV shows before he ever blew up. There is no Upper Echelon, Owl Pharaoh prelude remixes, there is no DBR or trap Travis.

Even a song like animal which is classic Travis’ sound was the single for Grand Hustle’s label album debut

Niggas really sleep on TIP. He had a airplanes BOB and a rising Travis and Meek them Dreamchaser tapes was another space TI promoted Travis

    Whatever man lmao

  • I mean his sound is 100% Cudi & Kanye-esque so he wouldn’t have the music without him

if travis didn’t have that grand hustle backing he woulda just been another theophilus london. TI the reason he had that thug/migos/future connection early on

I knew Travis as a Grand Hustle artists before a GOOD one

    How we gonna forget this?

  • Theyre both equally important

Thanks to them he covers almost every base in hip hop and that’s how he became one of the biggest ever

Gave him so much mainstream he had to run back to Atlanta for multiple classic singles and projects for years and still do. Fein, Type S***, Cinderella, Stuff, Trance
