I think a lot of people forget even though Dre got some golden gooses with Snoop Dogg, Eminem, The Game, Kendrick Lamar and Anderson Paak, he had ALOT of artists who just simply didn’t pop off. From Hitman to Bishop Lament to Slime The Mobster to Jon Connor.

    Depends on your preference.

They both have a very extensive catalog.

I would say Dre is better than Ye when it comes to clean mixes and hard hitting jams that can still turn up some clubs today while Kanye is better than Dre when it comes experimenting with other genres and innovative sounding production.

I know most will say Ye but Dre got In Da Club, Hate It Or Love It, Let Me Ride, Gin & Juice, and The Next Episode in his bag and that's barely scratching the surface.

Even his R&B production is solid and on par with Ye's R&B beats imho.

    Drogon

Ye has developed his style over a longer period of time and has put on and influenced a larger pool of Talent than Dre. Ye got 6 or 7 different eras where as Dre got like 3, and as a personal preference I'd rather listen to a Ye produced joint in 2021 rather than a Dre one.

All due respect to Dre, He's still one of the best to ever do it.

I would argue Dr. Dre has like 4 or 5 rather than 3.
Dr. Dre - NWA (era 1)
The Chronic (Snoop earlyy 90s era 2)
    Late '90s to 2001 - (2pac Era 3)
    2002 -2005 (Eminem/G-Unit era 4)
2010 (Kendrick, Anderson. Paak era 5)

I agree that Kanye has more though.

    Blueprint era
Talib Kweli Mid 2000s era albums
    Common/ John Legend era
    808s and Heartbreaks
    MBDTF
Good Music Era (Pusha-T, Big Sean)
    Yeezus
    And now Donda

    WESLEY THE GREAT

I think a lot of people forget even though Dre got some golden gooses with Snoop Dogg, Eminem, The Game, Kendrick Lamar and Anderson Paak, he had ALOT of artists who just simply didn’t pop off. From Hitman to Bishop Lament to Slime The Mobster to Jon Connor.

Is that really Dre's fault though or Jimmy Iovines? He also had Last Emperor too btw.

The point is, both Kanye and Dre are kingmakers. And both are high level, highly influential and well-respected beatmakers.
